What is the North Berkeley Youth Summit?
The North Berkeley Youth Summit is a one-of-a-kind event dedicated to uplifting, educating, and empowering K-12 students in our rural communities. Our Summit brings together youth, families, educators and community leaders for a high-energy day filled with learning, networking and inspiration. Together, we’ll spark new ideas, explore pathways to college and careers, become aware of inner narratives and shift limiting beliefs, experience cutting-edge technology, and celebrate the incredible potential of North Berkeley’s next generation.

The North Berkeley Youth Alliance is dedicated to providing innovative opportunities and resources for students in rural and underserved areas. This group is comprised of local nonprofits serving K12 students in North Berkeley County. By connecting youth, families, schools and organizations, we’re building a stronger, more vibrant community for all.
Event Details
The 2025 North Berkeley YOUTH SUMMIT is an immersive experience that empowers K–12 students in our rural communities through hands-on learning, open dialogue, and connections to future pathways like college, careers and leadership. It’s a community-wide event that brings together youth, families and the organizations that serve them to inspire growth and impact.

WE ARE BEYOND EXCITED to host this year’s North Berkeley Youth Summit at J.K. Gourdin Elementary School—a true cornerstone of our community. For 100 years, J.K. Gourdin has provided not only quality education but also a strong sense of belonging for generations of families across rural Berkeley County. This school is more than a building; it has served as a gathering place, a source of pride and a living testament to the resilience and unity of our community. By coming together in these historic halls, we honor the legacy of all those who have walked these corridors before us and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring its spirit and significance remain at the heart of North Berkeley for years to come. This rich history and enduring legacy makes J.K. Gourdin a heartfelt and meaningful venue for the North Berkeley Youth Summit.

Why Attend?
- Students designed the event! "For us, by us." Focus groups were held with students from the middle, elementary and high schools. They shared specific insight about what elements would make this event fun and educational. They even designed the menu with "good food".
